New features: Powerpoint and DOCX, Image preview
By David

A quick update with some features. We have just rolled out an update to Versionate that introduces support for Powerpoint presentations and Word 2007 format (docx).

Powerpoint Viewing

The imported power point looks a lot like the PDF view:

Makes it easy to view your powerpoint files quickly. As always, just hit the download button to get the original.

Image Preview

This is not exactly a new feature, but we wanted to make sure people are aware of this time saving feature. Images are a common type of file attachment. For any attachment that is an image, just hover over the name of the attachment to see a preview of it.

New Uploader
Last but not least. You’ll notice the file uploader in Versionate has received an update.
We’ve received reports from Linux users that it wasn’t working nicely with the Linux Flash player (yes, we were using a flash uploader).

The updated uploader will gracefully fall back to using HTML form upload when Flash is not installed.

I also wanted to say thanks to our first users. Your feedback has been invaluable to us. Thanks for the support!
